Anne Sandler is a highly skilled and regarded counsellor with extensive experience supporting people through life’s challenges. She is a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association and is committed to using evidence-based practices to help clients achieve meaningful change. Drawing on both professional expertise and lived experience, Anne creates genuine connections with people navigating grief and loss, relationship difficulties, and other personal challenges that can make life feel overwhelming.
Anne’s approach is authentic, practical, and tailored, recognising that every client’s needs are unique. Anne works flexibly, integrating a variety of therapeutic approaches to best support each person. In grief counselling, for example, she combines person-centred, emotion-focused therapy with practical education about how loss affects the body and nervous system, helping clients manage symptoms such as anxiety. In couples work, Anne uses a structured process to help partners understand that the main issue is not their escalating conflict, but the negative cycle that erodes their connection to each other. Together, couples learn how to rebuild trust, affection, and emotional responsiveness.
Anne’s practice draws on a wide range of therapies, including Solutions Focused Therapy (SFT), Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, as well as mindfulness, breathwork, and Polyvagal theory to support emotional regulation. Anne continually expands her knowledge through ongoing professional development activities. Her hope is that through counselling, clients will gain greater self-awareness, feel more connected to themselves and others, and leave with the knowledge and confidence to care for their emotional wellbeing—so they can live with balance, resilience, and joy.
